The issue lies in the absence of child-resistant safety caps, which violates the federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act. This oversight poses a grave risk, especially to young children, as iron can be highly toxic if ingested in large amounts. The recall affects multiple brands, including Arey, Bari Life, Bird&Be, Biote, Dr. Fuhrman, NuLife, HMR, Bariatric Pal, Noevir, Zenbean, and Sakara. The products were sold at major retailers and online platforms over a nearly three-year period, with prices ranging from $13 to $130. Consumers are urged to immediately store the affected supplements out of reach of children and contact Vitaquest International for free replacement child-resistant caps or storage pouches.
