Following a forced retirement in his late 40s, Silva transitioned to boxing, where he reinvigorated his career with notable victories against fellow MMA icons like Tyron Woodley and Tito Ortiz. Although he experienced a narrow loss to Jake Paul, one of his standout moments was defeating former boxing world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

In an exciting development, Silva has started training for a new role with the Beverly Hills Police Department, which he announced after his historic knockout victory over Woodley. He expressed a desire to give back to the community he has been part of for many years.
"I’m heading back to work now to join the Police Academy for the Beverly Hills PD," he stated in a post-fight interview with Ariel Helwani. He also reiterated his wish to continue fighting, even as he approaches his milestone birthday in 2025.

"There will be moments when fatigue, pain, doubts, my flaws, and fears try to invade my thoughts, but I won’t let them in," he wrote in a detailed message accompanying his photos and videos. "Even in times of darkness, when things seem unclear and hopeless, I refuse to give up.
"My faith in God drives me, and my quest to improve every day is unending.
"As long as I possess the strength to rise and fight, I will engage in this noble battle with faith, determination, and respect until the very end. Rain or shine, regardless of the challenges, I will stand firm and ready to face whatever comes my way."
